Hello, this is Heba, nice to meet you!
I’m Heba Jaleel, an Experience and Brand Designer passionate about crafting visual narratives that connect, inspire, and tell meaningful stories. Currently, I’m a Freelance Social Media and Brand Designer for Black Theatre United, where I create marketing materials that amplify voices and celebrate culture. Before this, I was the Design Strategist for a climate tech startup that secured a spot in the Techstars Alabama EnergyTech Accelerator 2024 (a big deal in the startup world!). My time as a Brand Designer at a creative agency sharpened my ability to build strong brand identities and craft impactful design experiences.
I love working at the intersection of community, culture, and design, and I’m always looking for ways to collaborate, uplift, and create spaces where stories can shine. Since moving to New York, I’ve been actively involved in community-driven design initiatives like the South Asian Design Educators Alliance and Women in Design NYC Chapter, where I get to advocate for diverse voices in the industry. I also co-founded Carrom Club NYC, a passion project that brings together people through the traditional South Asian board game, mixing nostalgia, competition, and cultural connection.
Outside of work, I’m all about good food, great movies, and spontaneous creative projects. Exploring New York’s food scene is basically my side quest (recommendations are always welcome), and I’ll never say no to a movie night. I love experimenting with design, storytelling, and community-driven projects, so if you’re into any of that— let's connect @heba.jalil14@gmail.com!
